Virgin Atlantic’s official Saver page lists London–New York examples from 6,000 points in economy, 10,500 in Premium and 29,000 in Upper Class, one way. London–Los Angeles examples start at 9,000, 16,500 and 41,000 respectively. Taxes, fees and carrier charges are additional. The page dates those example prices August 11, 2025; they are published reference levels, not a newly verified September fare or a promise of available seats.

The lowest points number may not save the most
Use the cash fare you would realistically buy as the comparison. A low mileage amount can still come with a substantial cash payment. Illustrative example: if a comparable paid ticket costs $450 and an award requires $300 plus 10,000 bank points after conversion, the saving is $150, or 1.5 cents per bank point. That example is not a quoted Virgin fare.
